The 70s all over again?

It’s called upcycling – taking an old piece apart and reshaping it into something more temporary.

Handmade embroidery is  too valuable to discard or keep in the bottom of the wardrobe forever. So, here is the result of my effort of ‘re-inventing the 70s’, just like the rest of the fashion industry.

I combined the pieces of embroidery on white linen with heavier, beige linen with a herringbone weave. This gives the long-sleeved tunic more body and makes it more wearable in colder weather.

Certainly stands out on the street, if nothing else.
