Murals in my garden – goddess Hebat with coffee

A documentary about a sanctuary near Hattusa, the capital city of the Hittite Empire, in what is now Turkey, drew my attention. The sanctuary contains rock reliefs of 64 deities in procession. The procession leads to a central scene of the supreme couple of the pantheon: the storm-god Teshub and the sun-goddess Hebat. Teshub stands on two mountain gods whilst Hebat stands on a panther.

In my interpretation of Hebat the goddess is equipped with a cup of freshly brewed coffee! The mural after all leads straight to the entrance to the kitchen. Comparing to the original, I still have to work on the head dress and on that funny small, dog-like animal. The tree is ‘borrowed’ from Friedensreich Hundertwasser, an Austrian-born New Zealand artist and architect.
